it's a cat blog. i recently adopted 2 young cats - shlomo (lomo) and bilal (lal). they live with 2 older cats (ava and max). this will be mostly about the young ones, the older ones may make an appearance here and there.
bilal (lal) is older by a few months. he was adopted labor day of 2010 at ~12 weeks old. he's a typical tabby, laid back, amazingly, wonderfully sweet. the name bilal means "chosen one" in arabic. the man bilal was an ethiopian slave who was chosen by the prophet mohammed to be the first crier (the person who does the call to prayer 5 times a day) of islam.
shlomo (lomo) is a cow cat. if cats can have an old soul, this cat has one. the name shlomo means "god's peace" in hebrew and when i hear the name i think about an old, some what crotchety, but with a heart of gold, chassidic jewish man with a long beard and payot sticking out from under his hat. he was adopted 1 jan 11 at ~6 weeks old. he is quite the playful young thing, not afraid to take on his brother lal, but smartfully fearful of the older alpha male, max.
they are both rescues from 4 paws animal rescue in logan, utah.
